MediaBuyerPlanner: Grocery chains such as Ralphs (owned by Kroger), Publix and Price Chopper have tested offering branded shopping bag handles to customers.
The product, called Grabb-It and created by Calif.-based Altivity, will launch in these and other grocery chains in July, writes Brandweek. Current advertisers include Nestle, Six Flags and the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The Grabb-Its hold the handles of plastic shopping bags together and allow for easier carrying.
Other possible venues for distribution of Grabb-Its include Target, OfficeMax and any other retailer that uses plastic bags, according to Altivity vp-sales and product development Mike Hempstead.
