MediaBuyerPlanner: Clear Channel’s latest station layoffs took place at WLW/WCKY in Cincinnati last week.
The layoffs, described by sports reporter and producer Greg Waddell as a “blood-gushing,” affected 19 employees, including Waddell, longtime WEBN-FM midday deejay Wendy Walker and WCKY-AM sports host Jeff Piecoro, writes Radio Ink.
Clear Channel is being bought for $26.7 billion by a group of private equity firms.
Staff reductions have been made at stations across the country, from New York and San Francisco to Lexington, writes the Cincinnati Enquirer.
