MarketingVOX: A Canadian group devoted to increasing new media usage in the country has gotten $27.3 million worth of help from the government, reports Variety.
The Canadian New Media Fund, a group which has helped Canadian businesses adapt to and adopt new media technologies, received the funds from the Heritage Ministry, a government agency. The CNMF is managed by the government as part of the Telefilm cultural agency.
The funds, while likely welcome, are not on the order of what the CNMF was hoping for. They also asked for tax breaks that would encourage more film productions to move to Canada.
