MediaBuyerPlanner: The Boston Globe, which recently offered buyouts to employees to cut some 125 jobs in order to cut costs, has now closed its foreign bureaus for the same reason.
Editor Martin Baron told staff that shutting the foreign bureaus – in Jerusalem, Berlin and Bogota – would eliminate the need to cut another dozen or so newsroom jobs, writes the Boston Globe.
