MarketingVOX: Blinkx is going public on the London Stock Exchange after merging back into the consumer division of?Autonomy, its former parent company, reports the.next.net. That consumer division is getting spun off in the IPO.
Although Google’s video search focuses on videos uploaded to Google Video and Youtube, Blinkx searches videos across the entire web – some 7 million videos – and also uses speech-to-text software to convert audio into searchable text. Further, Blinkx is also working on incorporating scene and facial recognition patterns as well.
Blinkx is to start trading next month, and Autonomy is expected to retain 10 percent of Blinkx’s ordinary shares, according to a press release.
