MarketingVOX: Joining a long list of competitors, blinkx has created a “remote” to help people find network programming online, reports BusinessWeek.
With new video ventures – both corporately-backed and amateur – launching seemingly everyday, many businesses are seeking to create a destination where people can find what they need. Blinkx’s search engine lets people find shows from a number of online outlets.
Blinkx, though, is only one of many players in this space. Other companies, including TVGuide, have launched similar ventures. The sites are more often than not ad-supported, hoping that they become on-ramps to people’s online video experience.
