MediaBuyerPlanner: Bill Moyers is returning to television with Bill Moyers Journal, premiering Friday at 9 p.m. EDT on PBS. The show plans to run 99 hours through February 2009.
The Journal will be “an account of such considerable things as have come to my attention,” Bill Moyers said (via the AP). He was quoting Benjamin Harris, editor of America’s first newspaper in the 1690s.
The first show, for example, will look at the Justice Department’s firing of eight federal prosecutors, the financial cost of the war, and a profile of Grace Lee Boggs, a 91-year-old philosopher and grass-roots activist.
The series will premiere with a special, 90-minute report on Wednesday called Buying the War. It explores the role the press played in the lead-up to the invasion of Iraq.
