MediaBuyerPlanner: Following the hiring of a new CMO, Bath & Body Works has cancelled its account review for what was to have been its first complete advertising campaign from an outside agency.
About six unnamed contenders were due to meet with the client two weeks ago to present their concepts, but the meetings never took place, according to Adweek. One client representative said the directive came from Leslie Wexner, CEO of parent company Limited Brands.
Sources have said that the review process may restart in the spring. Bath & Body Works hired Anne Martin-Vachon for the CMO position, which had been vacant since early 2005. Martin-Vachon was previously vp of global cosmetics and beauty marketing at Proctor & Gamble.
According to the article, it was not clear what role her arrival played in the termination of the review.
