MediaBuyerPlanner: Bancroft family members are meeting today to discuss the takeover by Rupert Murdoch’s News Corp. that was approved by the Dow Jones board last week.
Family members will then take several days to consider the matter, before being polled by their lawyers, writes The New York Times. Were all shareholders outside the Bancroft and Ottaway families – James H. Ottaway is a major shareholder and retired Dow Jones executive who is against the takeover – less than one-third of the Bancroft family’s vote is needed for the deal to go through.
