Bio: Nedra Weinreich
Nedra Weinreich is a consultant, author and blogger working in the field of social marketing. No, not that new definition of social marketing. The social marketing that's been around for decades, applying marketing principles to promoting health and social issues and bringing about positive behavior change.
Since 1995, as the president and founder of Weinreich Communications, Nedra has worked with nonprofits and public agencies across the US and internationally to help people improve their health and well-being, and bring about social change. She is the author of the widely used book "Hands-On Social Marketing: A Step-by-Step Guide" and writes the Spare Change blog (http://www.social-marketing.com/blog/).
Through the periodic Social Marketing University trainings she offers (http://www.squidoo.com/smu/), as well as other workshops and conference sessions, Nedra spreads the gospel of social marketing so that others can put these powerful tools to work on their own issues.
As a lecturer at the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Public Health and formerly at Georgetown University, Nedra teaches a graduate-level course on social marketing. She earned her Master’s degree in Health and Social Behavior from the Harvard School of Public Health.
Nedra lives in Los Angeles with her husband and two wonderful children. In the few moments she has between family, work and blogging, she enjoys learning to play the cello, watercolor painting and writing children's books (none published yet, though!).
