Matt – I guess they had to weigh the “give time to more customers” aspect over giving access to myspace for all the people who wanted that. I wonder if they’ll come up with a better solution in time? KermitFan – yes, wonderful, first-person customer experience tale in Tom Vander Well’s post. I, like him, ‘entered the Apple realm’ via my iPod, and then did the switch after getting very sick of my Dell laptop and Windows. I live in a small town but am served by a great reseller (Small Dog Electronics), which doesn’t have a genius bar, per se, but has a large staff of people who can help on site.. so I get the feel of the genius bar. The Apple store (or Apple in general) may not be able to please everyone all the time, but I think they are gaining a lot of converts with their connection to PC-types who are considering the switch more and more.
