MediaBuyerPlanner: The owners of an ad agency and public relations firm in New Mexico have set their sights on acquiring The Albuquerque Tribune from E.W. Scripps.
Scripps said at the end of August that it planned to close the newspaper within two months if it couldn’t find a buyer, writes the Associated Press.
President Tom Carroll and CEO Doug Turner of the D.W. Turner firm have headed up a group that has placed an offer for the paper.
The offering price and operational issues outlined in the bid have not been shared, but Carroll did say that the bid is independent from D.W. Turner’s operations.
