Learn as you go can be detrimental to your overall strategy. At Compendium we seek to develop the strategy, especially with Search Engines, BEFORE the first post goes up. This provides a dramatic impact out of the starting gate. As far as I know, there’s no other SaaS business blogging application that comes with your own Client Success manager and thousands of dollars worth of consulting to make your strategy successful without having to “Learn as you go”.

Great post! I would add: Don’t start a blog unless it’s integrated within your marketing plan with other tactics. The blog should be a tool to achieve strategies, which exist to achieve measurable goals.
