<description>Thanks Paul for the useful information. It contains good input for the Facebook element of a Social Media Strategy. The Social Media Marketing strategy should consist of use of different Social Media tools as applicable to your business.

		<description>Paul
Your info on facebook is misleading -
widgets and interactive content are not really viable or necessary to have a great fan page on facebook. They are very costly to produce and as facebook changes there interface will not continue to work. You can easily lose all your content investment money.
The most important asset to your facebook page is to make your fans feel special and to give them unique content in pictures, videos and messaging as well as promotional offers.

<description>Great specific tactics. It&#039;s important to remember, though, that all of the tactics must also fit well into an overall strategy. More at domusinc.blogspot.com/2009/06/agencies-and-facebook-twitter-social.html.

<description>Paul, I run a test for a non profit association and got some evidencies, part of them matches with your points, some differs a lot.
We post for two days letters from fans, who adopted a dog from our association, with comments on how their life had changed for better. Along with the letters, we run an ad campaign on Facebook.
Evidency:
1) Frequency of posting is not necessarily a must: relevance of the content is crucial.
2) Advertising simply does not work: content push recruitment figures, advertising not.
3) Everything visual, such as pics and video, works very well.
4) Events and contests are great hook to get more active fans.
Some figure:
1) In one month, the number of fan almost doubled (from 700 up to 1.500)
2) page views rose from 50 a day to more than 150 a day
3) photo view from an average 75 pic a day to more than 380 a day
We are now planning a video contest for the fall period and we then may share the results.
