Back Bay has since become a hip neighborhood but, anyway, last fourth we went on the freedom walk during the day and had a great view of the fireworks on the Charles in the evening. It was an interesting combo of the Boston Pops and John Mellencamp and an absolutely gorgeous fireworks display. The next day we headed for Western MA, where my uncle and I cut a cord of wood. Every evening was good food and wine and my parents, my aunt and uncle, and I conversed on many topics. What fun it was. The last thing before bed my aunt and I would go up to check on the horses. My aunt is in heaven with horses and cats. I have all fond associations with Massachusetts, though the black flies and mosquitoes really go after you out in Western Mass during certain times of the year. I think I will visit in the fall this year.
