Wow. I'm surprised. You're doing a podcast on SEO that runs on MarketingProfs, presumably from experts. And one of you mentions using Web Position Gold?
"Don't use unauthorized computer programs to submit pages, check rankings, etc. Such programs consume computing resources and violate our Terms of Service. Google does not recommend the use of products such as WebPosition Gold™ that send automatic or programmatic queries to Google."
For me, I didn't bother listening to any more of the podcast. All credibility was lost at that point.
Google wouldn't have singled the product out if it didn't work properly - automating what can be a painful process of examining results pages for hundreds of keywords. They also have no choice but to do whatever they can to discourage users from trying to gain an unfair advantage in their terms of service. If you consider tactics that some consider "black hat" to be not credible you're entitled to your opinion, and if you want to put it out on the web I'm sure nobody will find it when it comes up on page 235 of the search results. If you have a better system to monitor results for over 100 keywords for yourself and your competition, do tell.

Google apparently felt so strongly about the use of Web Position Gold that it singled it out in its guidelines, which cah be found at http://www.google.com/support/webmasters/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=35769
