Great podcast... some comments:
Many professionals have ethics & compliance rules to follow when giving gifts, but generally we can all send holiday and birthday cards.
And the 'real value' of these cards are the personal (not just personalized) message.
And yes, text e-mails are quick and are perceived as more thoughtful than distracting e-cards.

The article really in a sense struck the bulls eye rather than spilling the beans around. Good marketing strategies depend on the person marketing rather than
on the podcast used.
