MediaBuyerPlanner: CBS Radio president and CEO Dan Mason has announced a major restructuring of executive management that will leave him with direct control over CBS Radio stations in 10 major markets.
Regional management positions were eliminated in Boston, Chicago, Dallas, Detroit, Houston, Los Angeles, New York, Philadelphia, San Francisco and Washington, D.C., writes MediaPost.
The rest of the company's stations will be handled by Scott Herman, the new executive vp for operations. He previously held the post of executive vp of the Eastern region.
Michael Weiss, previously head of sales for CBS at Interep, will take over as president of sales for CBS Radio. He is replacing Michael Kincaid, who recently resigned.
Mason says the reorganization is meant to implement a streamlined chain of command. "Our ratings have improved, and a new head of sales will help us better monetize our recent success."
