MarketingVOX: SlingMedia has been acquired by Echostar (DISH) for US$ 380 million in cash and stocks, reports GigaOM.

The satellite broadcasting service company has been investing in SlingMedia since its inception in 2004.

SlingMedia went on to launch products like the SlingBox, which allows people to broadcast content from TVs on other devices through a one-to-one mini-network.
