MediaBuyerPlanner: Canon has renewed its contract to be the official camera of the NFL, and has teamed with former quarterback Archie Manning for a Why Do You Love Football contest.
The contest gives amateur photographers the chance to take pictures of youth football events in order to win a trip to the Super Bowl XLII game in Arizona, writes MediaPost. Manning will also be spokesperson for Canon.
Another effort, Shoot Like a Pro, invites 80 fans of 10 NFL teams to shoot their team's home game from the sidelines, with advice from a professional photographer. Then there's the contest which gives contestants a chance to shoot the Pro Bowl in Hawaii.
An online photo gallery on NFL.com invites visitors to enter pictures they have taken. At the two-minute warning during NFL games, the best photos from the previous week will be highlighted.
The goal of the campaign is to use football as a connection between amateur and professional photography.
