MediaBuyerPlanner: Viewers of prime time TV are getting older, with the median age of viewers who watched the top five networks between 8 p.m. and 11 p.m. increasing from 47 to 48 in the 2006-2007 broadcast season.
According to Magna Global's Media Age Report, CBS is still the oldest network, with a media age of 53 (up from 52 last year) and the network's 60 Minutes is the oldest show on prime time, with a median age of 60, writes AdAge. NBC's viewers are the second oldest, with a media age of 49, while ABC is third at 48 (up from 46).
The CW audience got younger by two years, dropping to 32. The CW also claims the two youngest-skewing shows for broadcast during prime time. One Tree Hill has a median age viewer of 26 and Pussycat Dolls Presents: The Search for the Next Doll (at 27).
