'Top of the Rock' Campaign Boosts Traffic in January

MediaBuyerPlanner: The Top of the Rock Observation Deck, a tourist attraction atop 30 Rockefeller Plaza (home to NBC), saw a boost in traffic during January, thanks to a new on-street promotion.

The tourist attraction retained Adwalker, a company that equips specially trained brand ambassadors with wearable interactive computer gear, to walk the streets around Rockefeller Center during the four weeks of January. While the month is notably soft in terms of tourism, more than half of the people who engaged with adwalkers bought tickets to The Top of the Rock during a given week, says Keith Douglas, sales and marketing director of the Top of the Rock.
