MarketingVOX: Comcast's user-generated video service, Ziddio, will become Facebook's official video-sharing service in a deal that also includes contests and a chance for users to have their videos shocased on a TV reality show called The Facebook Diaries.

Facebook's photo-sharing site, launched in 2005, is now the second-largest on the internet. The deal to become Facebook's video-sharing service could provide a similar boost to Ziddio, Ad Age suggests.

Facebook will also call on users to create and submit their own videos about various topics. The submissions will be assembled to create 10 half-hour episodes of The Facebook Diaries, which will air online and on Comcast's VOD platform. The show will be produced by R.J. Cutler, whose credits include American High and 30 Days, writes Multichannel News.

"We're initially very focused on the user experience," said Owen Van Natta, chief operating officer at Facebook. "We want to make sure we get that right and we'll work with advertisers to figure out how they can get involved."
