MarketingProfs Second Life Seminar Highlights

stumbleupon digg del.icio.us

Yesterday was the MarketingProfs virtual seminar, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Metaverse: A Marketer's Tour of Second Life.  Fellow Digitasian John Young and I, with help from MProfs maven Ann Handley, led more than 200 marketers on a wild whirl through the metaverse....

We focused on three key areas: well-trafficked ingidenous Second Life sims (in other words, the places where avatars really hang out), corporate marketing sims and, for contrast, some resident-run businesses that have carved out strong positions in the burgeoning SL economy.  If you missed the seminar, here are some screen grabs of the places we visited:

If you're a Second Life resident and would like to visit the sims yourself, I've posted our itinerary below.  Each tour stop is linked to a SLurl so you can teleport right in.
