Mardi Gras Sponsorships Closing Soon

MediaBuyerPlanner: Advertisers are running out of time to participate as a sponsor in this year's New Orleans Mardi Gras, as the sponsorship deadline is Feb. 1.

The 2007 New Orleans Mardi Gras season is expected to pull in well over 1 million visitors, according to MediaBuys, the company handling sponsorship for the City of New Orleans.

Due to budget constraints following Hurricane Katrina, the City of New Orleans offered 2006 Mardi Gras corporate sponsorships to help offset event-related expenses.

Glad Products became the first major corporate sponsor (in the event's 150 year history). In addition to its monetary pledge, Glad donated 150,000 Force Flex trash bags.

In 2007, an exclusive broadcast of the event is being introduced by MediaBuys and will highlight unique celebrity-driven content. This will be the first national broadcast of the New Orleans Mardi Gras on a major television network.
