Google Video Ads Tested on Sony, Warner Music Videos

stumbleupon digg del.icio.us

MarketingVOX: Google said on Monday it would expand testing its video ad system by working with major music labels Sony BMG and Warner Music Group to embed video ads on the websites of an inivitation-only group of AdSense publishers.

According to Reuters, Warner Music, for example, has defined various video channels, such as "rock music" or the "Divas of Pop Music," which a website owner running Google AdSense ads can select and embed in a section of the site.

Revenue will be split among the video content owner, the website publisher, and Google - in undisclosed proportions. The system will be part of AdSense and is in a four-week test run.

Ads would be billed on a traditional cost per thousand (CPM) impressions model rather than the pay-per-click model that Google popularized with text ads.
