MediaBuyerPlanner: A tentative agreement has been settled upon by the U.S.P.S. and the American Post Workers Union, AFL-CIO, and upon ratification by union members will run through Nov. 20, 2010.
The new agreement is "outstanding," according to APWU president William Burrus, writes DM News. It will be presented to the bargaining committee on Dec. 7.
Once the agreement is approved, details will be announced.
Negotiations with the National Association of Letter Carriers were not successful - the two partners are entering the dispute resolution process -while negotiations with the other two unions, the National Rural Letter Carriers' Association and the National Postal Mail Handlers Union, are continuing.
Contract negotiations began on Aug. 29, marking the first year that new contracts were negotiated separately but at the same time with all four of the U.S.P.S's largest unions, according to the article.
