Google Unveils Landing-Page Optimizer

stumbleupon digg del.icio.us

MarketingVOX: Google has begun a public beta of its Website Optimizer, a new service that allows users to test various versions of a landing page to determine which has the best conversion rate.

The Website Optimizer service, which compliments Google Analytics, allows users to experiment with different headlines, product features and images to determine the configuration with the best conversion rates based on sales, signups or other criteria, Media Post reports. Google is providing the beta service "on an acceptance basis" to AdWords and Google Analytics account holders who'd like to sign up, ClickZ writes.

"You can use this tool on your landing page or any page that represents a conversion," according to the InsideAdwords blog. "At the end of each experiment, graphical reports show which version of your landing page users liked best, as measured by which variation had the highest conversion rate," it adds (see graphic).

Web analytics consulting firms EpikOne, Optimost and ROI Revolution have partnered with Google to provide professional services to clients that require more in-depth services.
