Anti-PETA Billboard Refused in Phoenix

stumbleupon digg del.icio.us

MediaBuyerPlanner: CBS Outdoor and Clear Channel Outdoor have refused to rent billboards in the Phoenix metro area to the nonprofit Center for Consumer Freedom. The CCF wanted to run ads with the message, "PETA Kills Animals." A CBS Outdoor official told CCF that it could not accept the billboards because they are attack ads, according to the CCF.

Without the ability to advertise on stationary billboards, the CCF is instead sponsoring mobile-billboard trucks that will feature the website's address, PetaKillsAnimals.com. Two trucks will circulate in Phoenix's East Valley all week.

CCF has also run full-page ads this month in the Arizona Republic and East Valley Tribune, and a new TV ad is slated to air this week in Phoenix.

The billboard rejected in Phoenix has appeared in New York's Times Square and in Los Angeles, according to the CCF.
