MediaBuyerPlanner: Regent Communications will buy five Buffalo, New York Stations from CBS Radio.
Regent will acquire WBLK-FM, WBUF-FM, WJYE-FM, WYRK-FM and WECK-AM serving the Buffalo, New York market from CBS for $125.0 million in cash.
In May, CBS announced its plans to sell some small-market radio stations in ten markets. Last month, CBS sold two of its stations in Texas to Border Media Partners.
Regent will begin operating the Buffalo stations starting in October 2006. When the deal closes, Regent will own and operate 19 radio stations in the Upstate New York region including stations in the Buffalo, Albany, Utica/Rome and Watertown markets.
