MediaBuyerPlanner: Since fall 2004, Golfsmith has experienced a growth boom of sorts, increasing the number of golf and tennis stores it operates from six to 41. Now, the cataloger/retailer has added a new direct channel, launching its first-ever tennis catalog.
The catalog, called Center Court, will hit homes this week, just in time for the start of the U.S. Open, writes Multichannel Merchant. The 68-page catalog launch corresponds to the relaunch of the company's tennis microsite and the continued expansion of its stores.
Golfsmith will measure results of the first catalog before deciding on frequency, according to vp of marketing Matt Corey.
