MediaBuyerPlanner: Yesterday, Arbitron released the first weekly radio ratings data from its portable people meter trial in Houston.
Arbitron released average quarter hour and weekly cume audience estimates for two individual weeks, July 20 to July 26 and July 27 to Aug. 2.
Surprisingly, Mediaweek reports, ratings for Radio One's three stations were included, a group that up until now refused to participate in the PPM trial. Not surprisingly, Cox Radio, which still refuses to participate and owns three stations in Houston, are not included in the ratings.
The top 10 stations in rank order by average quarter hour rating for the first week in August were: KODA-FM (Clear Channel, Adult Contemporary); KRBE-FM (Cumulus Media, Tom 40); KMJQ-FM (Radio One, Urban Adult Contemporary); KHMX-FM (CC, Hot Adult Contemporary); KLTN-FM (Univision Radio, Regional Mexican); KTBZ-FM (CC, Modern Rock); KOVE-FM (Univision, Spanish Hits); KILT-FM (CBS Radio, Country); KBXX-FM (Radio One, Rhythmic Top 40); and KKRW-FM (CC, Classic Rock).
The top 10 stations in rank order by weekly cume for the first week in August were: KODA-FM; KHMX-FM; KRBE-FM; KBXX-FM; KTBZ-FM; KPTY-FM (Univision, Rhythmic Top 40); KILT-FM; KLOL-FM (CC, Hurban); KMJQ-FM; and KLTN-FM.
