MediaBuyerPlanner: Leon Henry Inc., an insert media and mailing list management company, manages and brokers several insert programs that have seen significant response from buyers in the Bible Belt.
"There's a whole package conservative audience that is very strong. They buy and love this medium of buying through the mail," Debra Goldstein, senior vp of Leon Henry Inc. is quoted as saying in DM News.
One such program, the Conservative Book Club Bulletin ride-along, targets affluent and educated buyers of books on the topics of public policy, government, history and religion. The median age of book club members is 52; 85 percent have attended or graduated college and they spend an average of $116 per year. Median household income is $48,000 and 65 percent own a computer.
The program reaches 600,000 per year.
Other programs include two from Heritage Family Libray, a division of door-to-door bookseller Southwestern/Great American Inc. (both on-the-pak and package programs), and two from S&S Worldwide, a Christian provider of children's toys and educational tools - inserts can be blown into the specialty catalog or included in S&S Worldwide packages.
