How I Invented Blogging

stumbleupon digg del.icio.us

When I was a kid growing up in the '70s, and my parents' friends would ask me the inevitable question, "So, what do you want to be when you grow up?" I would look them square in the eye and say definitively, "I want to be a blogger"....

Well, that's not entirely true. I did go through a period, when I was about 8 or 9, of wanting to be a vet, until my mother pointed out the inherent limitations of a veterinarian who accepted appointments only with cute, healthy dogs under a year old. That, and I was rather shy—so I never actually looked an adult square in the eye. Truth be told, I never spoke to them, either....

...This is the start to my "blogger story" told to the lovely and talented Toby Bloomberg, who is also a Daily Fix contributor. You can read the rest of the story on how I invented blogging here.

While you are there, cruise around Blogger Stories, which are the stories of many smart bloggers, including our own Mack Collier, David Armano, Tris Hussey, Debbie Weil, and many more...

My one complaint: Toby -- where's your story, Sistah?

Ann,

How many times do I have to tell you. I invented blogging. Me and Al Gore. In his garage—we put it all together from some spare parts he had lying around after he invented the internet.

Sheesh

Seriously, blogger stories is pretty cool. Yours was very entertaining. A great idea Toby.

Ann, remind me to tell you about how I invented podcasting.

Maybe you need to look to see if the topic is of interest to Women before you can make the statement there are more Men bloggers than Women. Sometimes as someone else stated we men like to think our opinion is worth posting. I would like to think this was not the case but there are some huge egos in the male world of business. Apologies for not putting this against the correct article.

Did I evermention a small inter-continental networking system I developed a few years ago?

Best wishes

You guys rock...thanks for all the comments.

While I'm at it, I'm thinking of taking credit for Fire, Air, Earth and Water, too.

All you Ladies and Gentlemen out there are far from the truth.

Actually blogging was invented through outsourcing by a (now) anonymous business processing organization in India. It seems that they signed a non-disclosure hence we will never be sure of the name. The invention resulted from the perennial US problem of people not having enough time or inclination to converse normally so a mid-ground was found in internet space.
