Sara Lee to Spin off Hanesbrands Branded Apparel Company

MediaBuyerPlanner: Sara Lee released late Wednesday more information regarding its plan to spin off a branded $4.7 billion apparel unit, to be called Hanesbrands, which will be a separate, independent and publicly traded global apparel company, writes BrandWeek.

According to strategic initiatives outlined in the 195-page statement filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission, increased support for key brands - including Champion, Hanes, Bali, Playtex, Just My Size, barely there and Wonderbra - would include targeted marketing and advertising campaigns.
