(MediaBuyerPlanner) In an effort to prevent interruption of nationwide service to customers, the Florida-based list brokerage and management firm Worldata has reinforced its headquarters building and signed a 20-year lease with a corporate office two miles away, as part of its completed two-year disaster recovery and hurricane preparedness plan, DM News writes.
"We're in a cycle of hurricane seasons, and everything we're hearing is that the hurricanes will be prevalent, and it can definitely impact those businesses that are not prepared," said Jay Schwedelson, Worldata corporate vice president. "Most of the other firms within our industry located in our area had to shut down last year."
Leaving nothing to chance, Worldata's backup site is considered one of the most secure structures in the area. "We're only going to be there if our headquarters is compromised," said Schwedelson. "We're going to keep it empty but make sure that systems there are continually synched with our data center here."
Worldata also has backup servers and a virtual private network in Springfield, Virginia.
