(MediaBuyerPlanner) The Washington Post and The New York Times were the top winners of this year's Pulitzer Prizes for journalism, which were announced yesterday at Columbia University, writes Editor & Publisher. The Post earned four prizes and the Times picked up three.
There were two winners in the prestigious Public Service category - awarded to both the Sun Herald in Mississippi and the Times-Picayune in New Orleans. The papers were recognized for their continued dedication to covering the effects of Hurricane Katrina. The Times-Picayune also won for Breaking News for its Katrina coverage, writes Yahoo.
