$100 Laptop Turns to Public for Help


MarketingVOX: Beginning November 12 and for two weeks thereafter, Nicholas Negroponte’s $100 laptop be available for public purchase.
Called G1G1, consumers can pay US$ 399 for two laptops: one for themselves, and one for a child in the developing world, according to BBC News.
Though the creators’ goal is to bring the cost of the laptop down to US$ 100, the wonder computer has somehow risen in price from US$ 176 to US$ 188. The two-week public sales promotion is part of an effort to bring prices down for Negroponte’s intended market.
G1G1 is targeted primarily at children in the Third World. Governments can buy the green machines in lots of 250,000.
