10 Things You Didn’t Know About Eric Kintz

Last Friday’s offbeat profile of Andrea Learned sparked some fun comments and conversation, particularly for a beautiful Friday in August when we probably all should have been outside of the range of Internet access….

This week, Eric Kintz bares it all (more or less). But only as far as the inner longings of his soul, so don’t go getting any ideas….
So why am I profiling bloggers this way? As I said last week, I’m a huge proponent of connecting on a human level, in the many ways you can apply a personal touch to create a memorable voice for your company. It adds a little dimension to an individual, you know?
To that end, here are 10 things you probably didn’t know about Daily Fix contributor Eric Kintz, who also has a day job as the Vice President of Global Marketing Strategy & Excellence at Hewlett-Packard.

1. If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, it would be– a delicious Moroccan couscous with chicken and lamb, dried fruits, vegetables and harissa. (Can I start now?)
2. If I weren’t a marketer, I would be– trekking guide in the Namibian desert. (Almost did it with my wife 8 years ago.)
3. Something I would like to do, but haven’t had the chance– meet Ann Handley and see if she is a real person. : )
4. The last concert I went to– INXS at the Hollywood Bowl.
5. My favorite toy as a kid– was a toy guitar. (That was the last time I was able to play an instrument.)
6. When I’m not working, you’ll find me– playing with my two kids (2 years and 4 months).
7. My favorite TV show isHouse, I just love Hugh Laurie!
8. My oddest paranoia or superstition is– that I will drop my daughter on the stairs. (I guess a pretty typical paranoia for parents.)
9. The last movie I saw wasOK Go — Here It Goes Again on YouTube.
10. If I could have dinner with a famous person, dead or alive, it would beJohn Muir, a great Californian, a great trekker and a great environmentalist.

  1. Anne – What a great idea! I love the concept of levity on Friday’s on the blog. I think I will borrow this idea (as if borrowing is really all that unusual in the blog world). – Mike

  2. I think FOX should be tracking these profiles for HOUSE testimonials and fanbase data. And… wouldn’t it be interesting to see how often DailyFix readers actually do click on the profiles of the writers they read? For me, knowing Eric has a passion for Namibia will put a different spin on the business perspective he presents.

What if Ann were actually one of those “Fembots” like the ones from Austin Powers? ;)
Nice post. Always cool to find out things about people that you didn’t know.

Ann,as I said last week, I love this concept. In fact, so much so that as the newsletter editor of a professional consulting organization, I am replacing the old concept of writing professional advice columns or Q&As with “10 Things You Didn’t Know About…”
With support from the Board and the Executive Director, we think getting to know each other is more important than getting consulting advice, which already exists at so many other levels.

  5. Eric Kintz says:

Andrea- we should start a “I love House” blog!!!
